When I visited my boyfriend this past winter, we took a short but romantic trip to Paris, France. I tried my best to capture everything worthwhile that we did on my dad’s camcorder but did not manage to get everything, so below I added some places we ate at and things we did.
Food
Even though we were there for a few days, I don’t even remember eating that much. In the mornings Philipp would go out and get us a couple of croissants while I got ready (how cliché, right?) or we’d have some quick foods in the fridge from grocery shopping.
Bistrot Richelieu
One place we did eat at and I’d definitely recommend, though, is Bistrot Richelieu. Just a few minutes walking distance from the Louvre, this is the spot to go after staring at the Mona Lisa in what I consider a mosh pit. Philipp is a vegetarian, and the spaghetti came with salmon so he asked to forego the fish and what he got was plain noodles without any sauce, which made me laugh. I ordered the steak tartare, something extremely exotic for my taste but when you’re in Paris- why the hell not! It was surprisingly delicious and I am actually still dreaming about it. I also had the French onion soup (because- why the hell not again?) and it was no shocker that it blew me away, and the prices were actually fair for the quality and location.

Pizza Hut
I already know what you’re thinking. But let me backtrack a bit. We went shopping at the Galerie LaFayette (real shopping this time!) and wanted something to eat after. I yelped for a quaint brasserie and found one just a few blocks away so we go and I want to be a little French and order a cheese platter. It gets to us and it’s literally four little slices of cheese with a few pieces of bread, oh and for €10. Philipp was clearly not amused, but I tried to justify this as a cultural experience. So we awkwardly try to slowly eat our cheese slices, and remembering passing by a Pizza Hut to get here, I succumb to his (mostly my) wishes and we went. But let me tell you, this Pizza Hut far exceeded my expectations! It was a two-story (with candles leading up the stairwell) restaurant complete with a DJ and the crowd looked like serious food connoisseurs, some real food critic looking guys wearing useless thin scarves-type of people. The pizza was so overwhelmingly delicious and greasily gourmet that I did not regret that decision at all.
Activities
Eiffel Tower Christmas Market
I will not list the Eiffel Tower because that is quite obvious. But, we stumbled upon a quaint christmas market just in front of it with a lot of food vendors. I had a plate of cheesy potatoes and my dessert was a nutella waffle and sugar crepe. (He’s holding it for the picture, but if we’re being honest here, it was really mine).
Jardin du Palais Royal
We accidentally discovered this lovely garden and walking area when I google mapped the Instagram blogger favorite Café Kitsuné. It was a nice place to relax after walking all day with a cup of coffee. I will admit though, I did not expect their lattes to be so bitter, I think I insulted the barista by putting heaping teaspoons of sugar in my cup! I guess I am not a coffee person nor do I know my coffee, but their prices are pretty steep, so beware, unless you just want the Instagram shot like I did. I believe around the area are some high-end designer stores like Stella McCartney, so you can do a little window shopping.
